Motorradketten oder Ketten für Hochgeschwindigkeits-Industriemaschinen sind Staub, Schlamm und Wasser ausgesetzt. Standardketten verlieren unter diesen Bedingungen ihre innere Schmierung und verschleißen schnell. Die O-Ring-Technologie wurde entwickelt, um dieses Problem zu lösen.

Was ist eine O-Ring-Kette?

Bei Standardketten gibt es einen Spalt zwischen Innen- und Außenlaschen. Hier dringt Staub ein und schleift den Bolzen wie Schmirgelpapier ab. Bei O-Ring-Ketten wird in diesen Spalt eine Gummidichtung (O-förmiger Ring) eingesetzt. Dieser Ring:

O-Ringe sind großartig, erzeugen aber Reibung (Widerstand), da sie zwischen den Platten zusammengedrückt werden. Dies kann dem Motorrad etwas Leistung rauben. Die X-Ring-Technologie löst dies, indem sie einen Ring mit "X"-Querschnitt anstelle eines "O" verwendet.

Vorteile von X-Ringen:
1. Weniger Reibung: Er berührt an zwei Punkten statt an einer großen Fläche, was den Widerstand um 40 % reduziert.
2. Bessere Abdichtung: Vier Kontaktpunkte bieten doppelten Schutz gegen Schmutz.
3. Längere Lebensdauer: Hält die Schmierung effektiv für das 1,5- bis 2-fache der Lebensdauer von O-Ring-Ketten.

Wartungstipps

Reinigen Sie O-Ring/X-Ring-Ketten niemals mit Benzin oder scharfen Lösungsmitteln! Diese bringen die Gummiringe zum Schmelzen. Verwenden Sie Kerosin oder spezielle "O-Ring-sichere" Reiniger.
